RoScan captures very accurate three-dimensional computer model of the selected body part within a few tens of seconds.
First takes place harmless body surface sensingoperating on optical principle. |
A few seconds later, we have multilayer 3D modelwith information about the size, colour and temperature. |
Each of thus created models has several layers, among we can switch:
3D Scanning Parameters
Positional accuracy of the model points (Absolute position of the point in space, 3 sigma) |
0.18 mm |
Scanning speed (Entire forearm is scanned in about 1 min.) |
3 cm / s |
Scanning trajectory (The trajectory can be set to be able to scan any part of the body) |
programmable |
Measured values (The position we define as the position coordinates of each point of the body surface in the model) |
position, colour, temperature |
Price of single model (You pay only for electricity) |
approx. 0.1 EUR |
Data storage format (The scanner comprises its own software for the analysis) |
internal |
Export formats for other SW (Model data can be exported as a shaded Mesh or coloured Point Cloud) |
PLY, PTS, XYZ |
Analyzing Software Capabilities
Created models can be further analyzed in our own RoScan Analyzer software, which allows you to:
3D Models Browsing
Rotating and moving the model in space, zooming.
Switching layers (surface only, colour, temperature, reflectance, gloss).
Adjustable colour scales for displaying of non-visual properties (temperature, roughness).
Displaying of exact values in the selected point or area.
Non-contact measurement of dimensions of selected body parts
Distance measurements (mm): directly between the points, between the points along the surface, perimeter bounded area (bone length, cuts, muscle circumference, …).
Measuring the angles (°): angle between three selected points (correct body posture, joint range, …).
Measuring the surface area (mm2): surface of the designated area, whole model (size of burns, the extent of injury, …).
Volume measurements (mm3): volume of the entire model or part defined by a cutting plane or a cutting polygonal area (muscle volume, edema size, …).
Other Features Are on You
We’re not trying to sell you a final product. This is a research project that aims to develop a new imaging device that brings new diagnostic information, or replaces existing expensive imaging methods.
The device is still under development and we seek clinical partners who could help us find other applications where RoScan might be useful.
